Be Grounded.

Hi friends!

Happy Friday! I’m going to keep this post short and sweet but I wanted to send it out in hopes that it would resonate with someone today as these thoughts have been with me for a couple days now.

It all started yesterday as I was driving into town for the weekend. I was thinking of events and things that are coming up this weekend and in weekends that are months from now. No joke. And my head began to swirl with thoughts and things to remember or how to prepare and I began to get anxious.

It was 7am and I was getting anxious about events that are happening in September. Seriously brain?

I quickly realized that I didn’t need to be thinking about all of this so early in the morning and without any reason. So, I turned on a podcast that I follow by Yoga Girl and it was perfect because she started it with a Grounding meditation practice.

I began to breathe and shift my focus toward grounding thoughts, keeping myself in the present, preparing to only tackle the events happening in front of me this weekend. That’s all anyone can do anyway, right?

It was just what I needed to re-center and I ended up having an incredible class focusing especially on grounding postures with breath and little bits of meditation in between the sequences. I want to share the quote that we spoke in class yesterday and I hope that it resonates with you.

I am connected to all that is around me. 

This connection gives me a strong foundation

and does not hold me back.

Security and stability in life allow me to

move with both confidence and 

connection to who I am. 

So, if you’re feeling anxious, sit down, take 5 deep breaths, say this intention and be grounded in where you’re at today, with what you have in front of you.
